Since graduating from San Diego State University in 2008, Gary Magnone has immersed himself in the world of digital marketing. From his internship at an SEO firm in San Diego, to his current role as Director of Operations at GoToMyApartment, and everything in between, Gary has used his experience to hone his passion for connecting brands with hyperlocal audiences.
Gary isn’t a newcomer to the multifamily space – real estate is in his blood. His mother, a former top producing real estate agent and successful mortgage broker, set him up with his first job helping realtors with door-to-door promotional item distribution. After high school, he obtained his real estate license, started working as a buyer’s agent, and began offering residential photograph, web-ready virtual tours, listing flyers, and other marketing materials for the other realtors at his agency.
In the years following, Gary used this experience to rise the ranks at two Southern California based digital agencies, co-found a digital marketing meetup group, as well as develop his entrepreneurial ventures, which included a location-based happy hour app, DrinkYourDrink, a digital marketing consulting practice, Highrise, and a brewery marketing consultancy, Craft Social. Through it all, Gary has learned to value forward-thinking digital strategy, efficiency-focused marketing tactics, and insights-driven metrics and reporting.
In addition to his passion for great digital marketing, Gary also loves locally produced craft beer and runs a Los Angeles beer blog, Hopped LA, with his brother Mack. He also enjoys drinking cold-brewed coffee, playing fantasy sports, crushing obstacle course races, as well as listening to, watching, and participating in improv & stand-up comedy.
